Modern Learning Environment

The learning opportunities database for foreign students who want to study or spend mobility period in Serbia has been interconnected with the joint European learning opportunities database PLOTEUS - Portal on Learning Opportunitiesthroughout the European Space.

Quality of Education

Serbia currently has 17 accredited universities - 8 state universities, and 9 private universities. There are altogether 64 (47 public and 17 private) accredited colleges of applied studies, and 8 colleges providing academic study programmes at both Bachelor and Master levels.Serbia joined the Bologna Process in 2003 and thus initiated a gradual reform process, which received its legal support in 2005 by the adoption of a new Law on Higher Education. This law formally introduced the European Credit Transfer System, three-cycle system of study and diploma supplement. From 2007/08 all new students study under the new reformed study programmes at all higher education institutions.

World Class Faculties

Faculties or academies of arts are higher education institutions within a university that carry out academic study programmes and develop scientific-research, professional and/or artistic work in one or more areas. A faculty or an academy of arts may also carry out professional career study programmes.

Entry Requirements:

For Bachelor:

At least 12 years study has to be completed. Study gap maximum 3 years is accepted. HSC result must not be below CGPA 3.5.

For Masters:

At least bachelor (Hons., BSc, BBA, BA) passed. 3 years degree pass is also accepted. Any partial result doesn't carry extra value to get admission. Work experience is not required but may carry extra credential to get admission in University.

Language Proficiency:

Admission to all private and public universities requires recognized English proficiency certificates i.e. IELTS, TOEFL etc.

File Opening Charge:

No file opening fees we charge but students must do all the verification in several steps according to the embassy's requirements.

Tuition Fees:

Tuition for full-time study (for citizens of EU countries) is funded by the Ministry of Higher Education. Students pay an admission fee of 32.00 EUR for the first year of study and 24.00 EUR for each subsequent year of study. Foreign citizens from non-EU countries must pay tuition fees for full-time undergraduate courses. The amount of the tuition fee is set by the higher education institution and is the same as the tuition fee for part-time courses for citizens of the Republic of Slovenia 2,475 EUR. The tuition fee does not include the mandatory health insurance. This must be settled before the start of study.

Required Documents for Admission & VISA:

  • **    Educational documents: At least two copies; secondary school leaving certificate and higher education diploma and transcripts.
  • **    Identification document and passport-size photos.Birth certificate: Must be translated into Serbian
  • **    Proof of proficiency in Serbian or English language (depends on the language of the study programme undertaken).Proof of sufficient means of subsistence
  • **    Letter of acceptance issued by the Serbian higher education institution.
  • **    Recommendation letter: At least two.Statement of Purpose: Cover the reason(s) of studying in Serbian higher education institution and the chosen programme, what you hope to acquire from this study abroad programme, and what after this programme.
